Middle Nene Sailing Club – Open Day
Living on a hill, surrounded by fields, as we do in Titchmarsh, the only time we think about messing around in water is when the brook in Polopit floods! And yet, just down the hill in the direction of Thrapston, is one of the most active sailing clubs in the county. The Middle Nene Sailing Club is based at Thrapston Sailing Lake which is at the end of Meadow Lane, Thrapston. On Monday 7th May they’ll be hostiung their annual Open Day.
On the day the club are offering not only advice on sailing, with boats on display etc., but also free taster sessions in sailing dinghies, skippered by experienced sailors. These are on a first-come-first-served basis and buoyancy aids will be provided. For younger children, and those who don’t want the actual sailing experience, there will be trips around the lake on a motor boat for a small fee. Refreshments are available to purchase from the club kitchen kitchen. There is also a licensed bar.
Monday, 7th May 2018 (May Bank Holiday) 11am to 5pm
Sailing is an exciting sport for everyone from 8 to 80+. The MNSC Open Day is the perfect opportunity to learn more about it. Everyone welcome.
Middle Nene Sailing Club is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) approved training centre. Details can be found on the club website (www.middlenenesc.co.uk) under the ‘Training’ tab.
Note: If you are using a satnav please use the post code NN14 4QL and follow the country lane to the club compound. A sailing club with a lot of activities and people around is not a very happy environment for pets. However, dogs are allowed, but must be on a lead at all times in the car park and within the club compound.
