No Return to School – Yet

As you may have heard, it is the Government’s intention to reopen primary schools to children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 from June 1st. They have asked all schools, including Titchmarsh CE Primary School, to make plans for this planned reopening date, subject to the latest scientific information.

However, after consulting with parents, the staff and governors have made the decision that  the school will not reopen yet. They feel more time is needed to ensure that the detailed risk assessments for the constantly changing situation are in place, reviewed and discussed. This decison has not been taken lightly but the school hope parents will understand that the continued safety of pupils, staff and the wider community has to come first.

The issue is under constant review and parents will be contacted after the half-term to provide an update of the plans to reopen.

In the meantime, the school will continue to fulfil its statutory duty under lockdown and will remain open to those children designated as vulnerable by school and for children of parents designated as key workers.
