STAUNCH Open Gardens and Alan Titchmarsh!
The Titchmarsh Open Garden event in support of STAUNCH takes place this Sunday and promises something for everyone! With 13 gardens participating, it’s bound to be a delightful experience for garden enthusiasts old and young alike. Each garden will be marked on a trail map (available from a gazebo outside the village shop) clearly numbered. Visitors will have no trouble navigating their way through the event.
In addition to the gardens, there are a few other attractions to enjoy. Sidney Bernstein’s Open Studio provides an opportunity to visit the artist’s workspace and buy one of his works inspired by the countryside around Titchmarsh. Sidney is very kindly donating all sales proceeds to STAUNCH.

The Craft Fair in the Clubroom offers a variety of crafts stalls, including ever popular Titchwincle Honey, made by bees from local hives.
Don’t forget to visit the Dovely Bakery, where you can indulge in some delicious treats and refreshments.
There will also be live music and a BBQ at the Wheatsheaf – which will the perfect place to take a breather and perhaps get some lunch.
For those interested in winning exciting prizes, there will be a raffle taking place. The top prize is a gardening book donated and signed by the renowned Alan Titchmarsh himself! This is an excellent opportunity for gardening enthusiasts to add a special item to their collection.
If you haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, Alan Titchmarsh’s video of support will be screened at the Church. It’s an opportunity to learn more about the cause and voice any objections to the warehouses if you haven’t done so already.
The event organizers haven’t forgotten about the children either! They can participate in an “I Spy birds” activity, which will be conducted throughout the gardens. Prizes will be available, making it a fun and engaging experience for the younger visitors.
Overall, it seems like the Open Garden event in Titchmarsh has something for everyone, from garden enthusiasts and art lovers to craft enthusiasts and families. Enjoy the event and have a wonderful time exploring the gardens and the various activities on offer!
