Parochial Church Council Submits Formal Representation to Peterborough Diocese
A formal Representation to the Peterborough Diocesan Board of Finance (PDBF) has now been submitted by the PCC. The document is necessarily church focused and sets out the implications of the PDBF’s tunnel vision on its own finances and strategic objectives for rural parishes and their communities. However, the issue of local plans is also addressed and the fact that this site is not targeted for development in any local plans or strategies and so this is pure property speculation. Climate change and the environment is also talked about with the conclusion that this is an inappropriate location for an industrial and logistics park.
The Representation has four Appendices:
1. Photographs and graphics of the site
2. Uses of St Mary’s Church in 2019
3. The petition (1166 names when the snapshot was taken)
4. Copies of letters sent to the Bishop
When we know what the next stages in the process are and the timescales we will let you know.
We are grateful for all the support from the community at this stage. Let’s hope the Representation and all the other campaigning effort persuades them to change their mind.
Keep up the good work!
