Support from Tom Pursglove MP
Our local MP, Tom Pursglove has made a statement expressing his concern about proposals for a “significant commercial development …on open green fields”. Tom’s piece to camera can be viewed below.
Tom adds:
I have been receiving many emails from local residents relating to warehouse proposals near to Thrapston and Titchmarsh. I have been writing to North Northamptonshire Council to ensure that all individual concerns are heard and that the detailed objections are appropriately considered as part of the formal process. I know that many people in our area have been concerned at the number and scale of planning applications of this nature locally in recent years and, as I have always said, any applications lodged need to take into account the expectations and needs of local residents and be in keeping with their surroundings. I fear this proposal fails that test and I will continue to work hard with residents to make sure that their legitimate concerns are heard loud and clear. I look forward to meeting with local residents later today to discuss these matters further and offer some advice on the local campaign.
Tom met with members of Titchmarsh Parish Council and representatives of the STANCH Campaign later in the day. His support will lend significant weight to what is likely to be a long and drawn out battle against the developers.
