Sunshine & pastries at the Village Shop

Saturday at the Village Shop proved to be a big hit in the village, as many of you ventured out on a glorious sunny morning to enjoy our Big Breakfast Extravaganza. More than 8kg of bacon was cooked up on the BBQ and the wine tasting table also proved to be very popular as we celebrated International Malbec Day.

It was also the morning we served up our new range of pastries for the first time and our coffee machine was working overtime to keep up with demand.  We now plan to offer warm croissants, pain-au-chocolat, cinnamon swirls and pecan plaits at the weekend for you to enjoy at home, or with a cup of coffee in the Pound Garden.

During the week, we have a lovely selection of warm savoury bakes, with cheese and onion pasties, cheese and bacon turnovers and sausage rolls for you to try.

We will be monitoring the sales of the new lines over the next couple of weeks so we can gauge how many to cook up each day and which products prove to be the most popular. We will be happy to take orders for the following day as we currently do with our bread from Kingscliffe bakery. So, if you would like to reserve some croissants or pastries for breakfast this weekend, just give us a ring on 730 727 or email titchmarsh.villageshop@gmail.com.

Finally – a big thank you to everyone who came out this weekend and to Sue and Jayne and all the volunteers who made it happen.

See you soon….
