Thrapston Town Council Object to Sale of Glebe Land

Thrapston Town Council have written a strongly worded letter to the Perterborough Diocese concerning the proposed development of the neighbouring Glebe Land. The council strongly object to sale of the land and any future development. The letter, posted on Facebook, outlines a number of serious issues that are raised by the proposal. Of particular concern is the increase in traffic such a development would bring. The Council make clear that the A605 is already congested and something of an accident hotspot.

As the letter makes clear, the site is not included in the East Northants local plan and any development would require a total change to the strategic plan.

There is also concern that any development would result in the removal of the boundary between Thrapston and Titchmarsh.
