Titchmarsh Environmental Group Litter Pick

On Sunday 27th June – 11 keen Wombles met outside the Village Shop to collect their equipment for litter picking. We all looked very smart and VERY visible in our new TEG Hi Viz jackets and holding our yellow litter pickers and orange bag holders, all kindly paid for by Titchmarsh Village Shop.

Our focus today was along Haldens Parkway- AGAIN!! – and round the Thrapston Island area.
We got several honks from approving drivers and collected 18 bags of rubbish in 2 hours!
These will be collected by North Northants Council.

Many thanks to the volunteers who came to help. It is a strangely satisfying and addictive job BUT we just wish that it wasn’t necessary!

We did find hundreds of Pyramidal Orchids growing by the slip road to the A14 which was a wonderful sight! We also found a wild flower we can not identify -so if you can – please let TEG know!
