Titchmarsh House Garden opening: Easter Monday 1st April 2024

Spring is here and Sir Ewan and Lady Jenny Harper once again are kindly opening their beautiful gardens at Titchmarsh House in aid of the National Garden Scheme (yellow book) with all proceeds from the garden opening and plant stall going to the Charity which is an umbrella for a range of major charities such as Marie Curie. Last year we were able to raise over £3,000 for the first time; this year is our 40th year of opening. The gardens will be open from 12.00 noon in conjunction with a barbecue and teas at the shop. The gardens will close at 5.30 pm. Entry is the same as last year at £6 per person; children under 16 free, but no dogs, please

Do come to see our garden on Easter Monday from noon to 5.00 pm; there will be plenty of flowering trees, some bulbs and other plants of interest with some already showing on the drive.

No frosts have enabled the magnolias to flower without brown stained petals: the best show we have ever had, despite rain galore ( wish it had been Whisky!) and even hail.

Other joys are cherries, crab apples, exochordas, snakes head fritillaries and a rare lilac originally found in a garden in Kabul, Afghanistan and the general sense of Spring with bulbs.
