A14 night closures Tuesday 21st and Friday 24th March 2023

Notification received from National Highways

There will be closures to allow surveys to take place to allow National Highways to design additional drainage to help prevent the flooding that occurs in the central reserve between J16 to J17.

We are planning to close the A14 between J13-20 for traffic travelling east to west and vice versa between Tuesday 21st and Friday 24th March 2023. The westbound closure will be on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and the eastbound closure on Thursday and Friday nights. The residents living on the route and businesses requiring 24 hour access will receive the attached letter which can be presented to allow escorted access to their properties.

The B660 junction will be open all four nights to allow north/south travel and it is recommended that this is the best route to use. Other junctions maybe open depending on weather and resources levels.

We are planning to put additional signage on the A605 and for Brington at both ends of the village in an attempt to prevent HGVs trying to cut through the local routes rather than using the designated diversion route.
