Celebrate British Pie Week with New Range
Did you know pies have been in existence since around 2000 BC and have been loved by the British since the 12th Century? Created by Jus Rol, British Pie Week falls in the first week of March every year and we have just introduced a new range to celebrate. Sadly, Measures of Brampton has recently reviewed their business and made the decision to cease supplying to the trade. This meant we had to source another supplier – not an easy task for a Village Shop with a small volume turnover but we are confident we have found a great alternative. The Real Pie Co. is an award winning local manufacturer with an extensive range and we took delivery of our first batch on Friday.
Every pie is hand crafted and ‘crammed to the crust’ with mouth-wateringly tender chunks of meat encased in a hand finished puff pastry top and a shortcrust base. Available in 2 sizes, individual and medium, there is now a vegetarian option too. Choose from steak & stout, just steak, peppered steak, steak, stilton & mushroom, steak & kidney, steak & mushroom, chicken & leek, chicken & ham, chicken Balti, chicken, sage & onion, butternut squash & chick pea, potato, mushroom & stout, to name but a few. What’s more, the range also includes fruit pies and crumbles. We don’t have the full range in stock but they can always be ordered in advance.
All the pies are pre-cooked and just need heating. for 20 minutes. They freeze well for up to 6 months and can be heated from frozen for 40 minutes. So pop along to the Shop and try one soon. We don’t think you will be disappointed.
