It may still be October but they’re already gearing up for Christmas in the village shop. The shelves are bowing under the weight of all sorts of gifts and goodies – including last minute treats for the big day. That said, it’s worth remembering that the shop isn’t just for Christmas! In recent months, due to the loss of several regular customers, there has been a marked downturn in sales. The margins are so small that the loss of even a few customers a week can make a big difference. We are very lucky to have a village shop in Titchmarsh. If we all spend just a few pounds a week its future will be assured.
