A family from the village discovered fly tipping in The Leys (the road from Polopit to the A14) between 8.30 and 9pm on Monday evening. An unknown fly-tipper emptied a load of soil, chicken netting and posts in the middle of the road.
The police were called and they moved the light rubbish to the side of the road, but the evening was saved by local farmer Ben Cheney, who cleared the road with his heavy machinery.
It’s hard to believe that someone could deliberately block a road like this, so this as a reminder to us all to take care when driving in the dark – you never know what to expect!
