YOU WILL recall that North Northants Council (NNC) consulted villagers asking for their views about having double yellow lines and zig-zags around the area of the school, for safety reasons.
NNC have reviewed the seven responses they received from Titchmarsh residents, in connection with this consultation, and have now granted permission for these parking restrictions to be implemented.
They said: “North Northamptonshire Council Officers are proposing to implement No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on sections of various roads in Titchmarsh. The proposals are intended to prevent obstructive parking and enhance safety for all road users, particularly during peak periods. The request to improve parking restrictions in this area relates to issues arising from high levels of on-street parking within locations serving residential and village uses. Site observations identified instances where parked vehicles reduce the effective carriageway width, restrict visibility, and adversely affect the safe and efficient movement of traffic. Following a review of the locations, it was considered that the introduction of parking restrictions would improve highway safety and accessibility for all road users.”
We’re told that these parking restriction will be implemented in 3 to 6 months time.
