Playing Fields – Weed Treatment

Please note that the playing fields have been treated with a weedkiller product called ‘Envy’ which controls buttercup, dandelion, daisy, plantain and a wide range of annual and perennial weeds in paddocks and grassland. The treatment has been carried out to get the football pitches into the best possible condition for the new season.

We have been advised, by the sprayer, that it’s a safe product, but shouldn’t be used for grazing animals for 7 days. That said, we have to follow the safety guidelines – hence the notices.

We are obviously trying to remain as insect friendly as possible – as such, I hope you will have notice a degree of ‘wilding’ around the edges of the playing fields that has been deliberately left for insects.

My apologies for not getting information out sooner; however, we are all volunteers on the Playing Fields and have to fit this in around our regular lives and work.
