The Titchmarsh Village Defibrillator is now in place in the cabinet on the side of the Village Shop. The cabinet has a keypad lock on it; the code would be obtained from a call to the Emergency Services should it be needed. The photos show you what to expect inside. The device is completely harmless to anyone who does not need a shock. There is an excellent training video at the link below (the video is made in the USA and so gives ‘911’ as the Emergency Number) which shows how to use the unit. It is very intuitive and simple to use.
The East Midlands Ambulance Service will be providing the village with a CPR & AED Training Event in the next month or so. If you are interested in attending this training, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org so I can co-ordinate numbers. Details will follow. I am also looking for a few volunteers to help with the simple maintenance checks on the device. If you feel you are able to help out, please get in touch. Once again, many thanks to all those who have been involved in getting this project off the ground. I rather hope that the AED will have a peaceful existence locked in its cabinet, but it is there should it be needed.
