The first Walking Group walk of the New Year will take place this coming Saturday, 7th January. As has become customary, instead of driving to a destination, this first walk will start and end in Titchmarsh. Unfortunately there is a fair bit of mud around at the moment but we can still plot a circular route that avoids the worst of it.

The walk will take us out through Skulking Dudley Wood, up the road to the Red Barn and then along the track toward the The Fox at Thorpe Waterville. We can adapt the route as we go – adding a few diversions if necessary – fitting the mood of the party and the weather! If the pub is open we can take a rest there before looping back to Titchmarsh.

Lunch will be served at the Wheatsheaf from 1pm. However, instead of pre-ordering our meals, Gemma is happy for us to place the orders on the day.

If you’re new to the village then it’s probably worth knowing that the Walking Group is one the most fun and active groups in the Titchmarsh! It’s a great way to meet new people and get fit into the bargain. Everyone is welcome – including well-behaved dogs.

We meet on the Village Green at 10am. Just turn up and come along.
