Turn Up & Play Summer Holiday Programme
Freedom Leisure, in partnership with North Northamptonshire Council, are providing the opportunity for 8 to 13 year olds in rural locations to become active during the upcoming summer holidays through the Turn Up & Play Summer scheme. The scheme, which will run in rural locations across North Northamptonshire, will include a mixture of sport and crafting activities for young people to get involved in for £2 per session, with each session lasting for a period of 2 hours. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, spaces are limited on each session and must be booked in advance by e-mailing both Christopher.Bryden@freedom-leisure.co.uk and Jackie.Ackroyd@freedom-leisure.co.uk.
Christopher Bryden, Active Communities Manager for Freedom Leisure in North Northamptonshire comments, “It’s fantastic that we’ve been able to offer this opportunity again, working in partnership with local parish councils in rural areas of North Northamptonshire. The team are really excited about delivering the project and young people’s participation in sport and physical activity has never been so important given the knock-on effect of lockdowns through Covid. I’m sure we will have strong interest across of the sessions as members of the public will be looking for opportunities to get involved in this summer.”
The sessions in Titchmarsh will take place on the Playing Fields (Drydens Close) on Monday 26th July and Thursday 5th August between 1.30pm and 3.30pm on both weeks.
