We’ve reached the end of week five of the government “lockdown”, but at least we’ve been able to enjoy some glorious sunshine.

In the village shop we’ve been busy keeping the shelves stocked with fresh fruit and veg and other “essentials” like Fentimans tonic to go with the new batch of Titchmarsh Tipple No1.

Also new this week is our extended range of beers, including Vagabond and Punk IPA from the Brewdog company, Plum Porter from Nobby’s and – for fearless lager drinkers – Corona Extra…

Although we are still confined to the village you can bring a taste of France to your kitchen in just 10 minutes, with our delicious Menissez part baked baguettes (just £1 each), and, if the recent sunshine has tempted you to dust off your barbecue, then we have some succulent beef burgers in our chiller, with more  Grasmere pork and apple burgers due in on Thursday.

…and finally you will notice that a new party tent has appeared in front of the shop…just keep an eye on the village website later this week for details of what we will be using this for
